Harrison Hot Springs - From Vancouver (1.5 hrs.) take the Trans Canada Highway #1 on the south side of the Fraser River, take the Agassiz - Harrison turn-off just past Chilliwack.  Take Highway #7 on the north side of the Fraser River and follow the signs to Harrison Hot Springs. 

Chilliwack is ideally situated on the Trans Canada Highway, just one hours' drive from Vancouver, B.C. and 30 minutes drive from the U.S. border. Some of the attractions in the Chilliwack area include Cultus Lake, Minter Gardens, Dusty's Dino Town and the Water Slides at Bridal Falls and Cultus Lake. The surrounding mountains, lakes and rivers allow for many outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, boating, kayaking and many challenging golf courses

Hope - Just a 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive east from Vancouver located on the mighty Fraser River and ringed by the snowcapped Cascade Mountains, at the junctions of Hwys. 1,3,5 and 7. 

The area is great for hiking, biking, boating, golfing or mountain biking. The producers of the hit movie First Blood used the town as the location for the film.

The Fraser Valley stretches from Hope, in the northeast, to just east and south of Vancouver, following the course of the Fraser River as it flows towards the sea. The combined Fraser Valley and greater Vancouver area are known as the Lower Mainland.

It was named after explorer Simon Fraser in 1813 by David Thompson, (in turn, the Thompson River was given its name by Fraser.) The longest of British Columbia's rivers, the Fraser rises near Mount Robson Provincial Park on the central Alberta border, flows north and then loops south down the center of the province, cutting the deep gorges of the Fraser Canyon before reaching the Pacific Ocean at Vancouver. The river's total length is 1,368 km (850 miles).

Surrounding the Valley are the Coast Mountains to the north, the Fraser Canyon and mountains to the northeast, the Canada/US border to the south and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the west. 

As you leave Vancouver, you journey through the bedroom communities of Vancouver, which include Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. These are all within an easy one to one and a half hour from Vancouver. 

Continuing up the Fraser Valley heading west, the Valley opens and broadens into lush vegetable and dairy farms. Recently, flower bulb farmers have begun to expand operations and the spring promises lots of colour for the traveller.

The City of Abbotsford is one of the fastest growing areas in North America. It is bounded by the Fraser River to the north and the US Border at Sumas, WA to the south. Abbotsford boasts some of the finest recreation facilities in Canada! Skiing at either Hemlock Valley, Grouse Mountain, Seymour or Mount Baker is just over an hour's drive away.

Some of the attractions in the Chilliwack area include Cultus Lake, Minter Gardens, Dusty's Dino Town (formerly Flintstone Park) and the Water Slides at Bridal Falls . The surrounding mountains, lakes and rivers allow for many outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, camping, boating, kayaking and many challenging golf courses which can be found nearby.

Hope is located on the banks of the Fraser River, just 25 minutes east of Harrison Mills, at the junctions of Highways 1, 5, and 7. Ringed by the snowcapped Cascade Mountains, Hope was once a fur trade and gold rush town. Today, attractions include giant wooden sculptures carved with a chainsaw by local carver Peter Ryan, a renovated railway station that is now the Rainbow Junction Community Arts Centre, and the Hope Museum where one can learn about B.C. explorer, Simon Fraser.
